Social Enterprise Awards 2016 Finalists Announced.
Twenty-six of Australia’s best and brightest social enterprises have been named as the finalists in this year’s Social Enterprise Awards.
Social Enterprise Awards 2016 Applications Extended
Applications for the Social Enterprise Awards 2016 have been extended by one week, giving enterprises more time to share their story and complete an entry.
Applications will now close at 5pm, Friday 9th September. All applications must be completed online.
Luke Terry, Executive Director of the Toowoomba Clubhouse, was recognised as the inaugural Social Enterprise Champion in 2015 for his work in pioneering the social enterprise movement in Toowoomba. A year and a half on, Luke says the award changed his life, starting conversations and opening new doors to drive his aspirations to grow social enterprise in Toowoomba even further.
In 2014, Brisbane's SEED Parks and Property Maintenance was selected as the winner of the Small Social Enterprise of the Year. Steve Williams, former SEED Enterprise Director, reflects on what winning the Award meant for their business and why other enterprises should look at applying.
In 2015, Nundah Community Enterprises Co-operative (NCEC) was selected as the winner of the Small Social Enterprise of the Year. A year and a half later, NCEC has continued from strength to strength and are now running workshops to share their knowledge of starting a social enterprise to encourage others to start-up and grow.
